Late Saturday night, an OHP Trooper in the Tulsa District attempted to make a traffic stop for a suspected tag violation.

The driver of the vehicle did not immediately pull over, but exited the highway and came to a stop at a stop sign.

Alfred Douglas Hill, Jr., exited the passenger side of the vehicle and fled east on foot. The Trooper gave chase on foot and seconds later shots were fired by both the subject and the Trooper. The Trooper was not injured. The subject was struck by gunfire and was transported to a local hospital, where he remains.

The driver and a second passenger were both interviewed by OHP investigators and released. Both occupants of the vehicle gave said Hill had told them he had a gun and was going to run.  A small amount of what is believed to be illegal drugs was found at the scene.
