The Dallas Mavericks celebrated the New Year in the most cliché of ways. By handing the OKC Thunder its second loss to finish out 2017.

Russell Westbrook missed a couple of 3-pointers during the final 12 seconds, and Dallas swerved to a 116-113 victory in a game it made 15 of 34 triples.

The Mavericks have now beaten the Thunder twice, this time because of a dominant offensive performance from start to finish.

The Thunder now have two consecutive off days ahead for the first time since the end of November.

In the game you heard on WBBZ the night before, Thunder fell  to the Milwaukee Bucks after controversial, late call, ruled a no call by the NBA, giving the Thunder the loss in the 97-95 game.

The Thunder travel to Los Angeles to play the Lakers on the third of this new year.  The game has a late 9:30 tip off on WBBZ.
