The Oklahoma Association for Technology Centers recognized top industry partners for training and employing thousands of Oklahoma workers through CareerTech programs at the annual Partners for Progress awards ceremony this last month.

Pioneer Technology Center selected AllianceHealth Ponca City for their critical partnership in assisting with training future nurses and health care providers.

State secretary for commerce, Sean Kouplen, who was on hand to congratulate award recipients, said that Partners for Progress represents a powerful alliance between CareerTech and employers to train Oklahomans and put them to work in quality jobs. Last year alone, almost 7,000 organizations took advantage of CareerTech training resulting in more than 350,000 enrollments statewide. Kouplen also said he believes that is a big step towards building a top ten state with skilled workers. Super Intendent and CEO of Pioneer Tech Traci Thorpe said that AllianceHealth is a valuable partner and clinical site for PTC students. AllianceHealth provides learning and practical experiences for the many health career fields of study at PTC, who is thankful for the partnership.
