The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Freeze Warning for Kay County and all of Northern Oklahoma for overnight Thursday as temperatures as low as the 20s are expected. Not only is there going to be the cold weather, but also the chance of rain across Northern Oklahoma and Southern Kansas. Areas north of Wichita, Ks. are currently under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6 p.m. Thursday where areas up around Salina and Topeka could see snow totals Thursday Afternoon between 2 to 4 inches. As for the Ponca City area, it appears at this time that we won’t see a chance of snow until Monday where we could possibly have a mix of rain and snow.
Be sure to keep your pets inside the house, garage or any place that is warm for them tonight and do NOT leave them stranded out in the cold. Also make sure to leave your faucets dripping to avoid pipes freezing overnight.
