KAY COUNTY – Beginning next week, the Kay County Health Department will provide flu shots at no out-of-pocket cost to recipients, regardless of insurance coverage. Those with insurance coverage are asked to bring their insurance card when coming for their flu shot.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends annual influenza vaccination for everyone 6 months of age or older. When more people are vaccinated against the flu, there is less opportunity for flu to spread in families, schools, and communities. The flu vaccine is formulated each year to keep up with flu viruses as they change. A yearly flu shot is needed because a person’s immune protection decreases and the vaccine may be updated from the previous year. An annual vaccination provides the best protection against the flu through the entire flu season.

Mondays – Thursdays 8 a.m.-11 a.m. & 1 p.m.-4 p.m.
Fridays 8 a.m.-11 a.m.
