Voters that live within the Kildare Public School District will make the decision on Tuesday, Nov. 12 as to whether or not they want to approve a new proposed bond.
According to the Newkirk-Herald, the bond will add classroom space, increase school safety and renovate portions of the current structure. This is to help with growth problems the school has had as enrollment has increased. To meet the needs, The bond will use $2 million over the next 10 years. `School security will also be increased with a new secure front entrance and playground fence. The gymnasium and cafeteria roofs will be replaced. More upgrades are expected for the gym, including a new floor, new heating, ventilation and air conditioning, system and expansion for more stands. The school is also looking to build a new bus barn with the bond.
As of Friday, Oct. 25, the deadline for voter registration for the KPS election has passed, but absentee voters still have time to apply. (Learn more here)
