Daniel Wood has been named Head Softball Coach for Ponca City Public Schools. Daniel has been the Head Softball Coach for Holdenville Public Schools since 2011. While at Holdenville, Daniel led the Wolverines to their first ever state tournament appearance.  Daniel was named the Route 66 Conference Fast pitch Coach of the Year twice and coached two All-State Athletes.

 Daniel also coached the American Legion Post 72 Ada Braves baseball team where he was the Co-Head Coach and Hitting Coach. While at Ada, Daniel helped lead the American Legion teams to two state runner-up finishes and one American Legion State Championship.

 As an athlete, Daniel played one year at Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College in Moore. While at Hillsdale, Daniel was a member of the NCCAA National Tournament runner-up team. Daniel then transferred to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha and played baseball for four seasons. 

 PCPS Athletic Director Jason Leavitt said, “We are very excited for our student/athletes. Daniel will be a great addition to our coaching staff here at Ponca City!”

 Daniel is married to LeAnna and they have 6 children.
