Ponca City Public Schools Athletic Department Announces New Safety Procedures for Events

PONCA CITY – In an effort to expand public safety, the Ponca City Public School Athletic Department would like to announce their new procedures for all athletic events effective immediately.

The first procedure includes sideline passes for all media, medical personnel, game sponsors, and event staff. Sideline passes will be required to be on the field during the game/event. The aforementioned will need to contact the PCPS Athletic Office at 580-767-8075 to obtain their passes prior to the game/event.

In addition to the sideline passes, “Backpacks” will not be allowed into PCPS Athletic events. If a student athlete has finished participating in an event and has a team bag, this will be appropriate.

PCPS Athletic Director Jason Leavitt explained, “These changes are necessary to not only protect our student athletes while competing, but for visiting teams, event staff, game officials, and all in attendance.”
