KAW CITY – Phillips 66 Ponca City Refinery and the Corp of Engineers at Kaw Lake are partnering to complete several projects in and around Kaw Lake. The first project, which is near completion, is updating and replacing signs along Highway 11, Kaw Lake and Lake Road which will promote water safety for all lake users. A second project underway is relocating a picnic pavillion/shelter house due to land erosion. The City of Kaw City is partnering with these projects and is working to install benches and grills in the same area. The final project of the series is the Pollinator Habitat, where a five acre land will be pesticide free and protected so that pollinators will flourish.
