Red Flag Warning issued for Tuesday

PONCA CITY – The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Red Flag Warning for Kay, Grant, Garfield, Kingfisher and Noble Counties in northern Oklahoma from 11 a.m. Tuesday morning until 6 p.m. Tuesday evening. NWS Tulsa has issued a Red Flag Warning for Osage and Pawnee counties from noon until 7 p.m. In Kansas, NWS Wichita has placed Cowley county under a Red Flag Warning.

According to the National Weather Service, humidity is likely to get as low as 20% with winds out of the southwest up to 30 mph Tuesday afternoon, and possible wind gusts up to 50 mph in some area. If fires start, they will spread rapidly and will be difficult to contain. Ongoing fires may grow larger.
