TONKAWA – An Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper observed a vehicle on Interstate 35 in northern Oklahoma on Saturday that was not only travelling at 100 mph, but also travelling north on the southbound shoulder, causing multiple vehicles to swerve out of the way.

According to OHP Troop K on Facebook, the trooper attempted to perform a tactical vehicle intervention, but just as the trooper was making contact, the suspect braked causing the trooper to hit the suspect’s vehicle in the left rear quarter panel.  The forward momentum of the suspects vehicle continued caused both vehicles to leave the roadway and come to rest in the center median. The suspect was taken into custody.
