PONCA CITY – Ponca City will be getting two new electric vehicle charging stations, courtesy of the Ponca City Development Authority.

The PCDA made the announcement on Thursday that they approved a 10-year lease, with a five-year option, for the installation of the two EV charging stations for two of the parking spaces at City Central building at 5th and Central.

The company installing the EV charging station is Frances EVC. LLC, out of Tulsa. The company will pay the full cost of the installations. This includes the cost of extending utility services to the stations, and would pay all the utility bills and upkeep of the station itself.

PCDA would not be liable for any cost, and would receive a $10/year in rent.

While people would charge their cars, which can take around an hour, it allows them to spend time and visit the City Central Building and even have time to walk around downtown Ponca City.
