The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that two people are in critical but stable condition following a two vehicle collision on Thursday afternoon just southeast of Braman.
The accident took place at about 5:45pm on US 177 at Peckham Road, located 3 miles south and 2 miles east of town.
The report indicates that the Nissan was was westbound on Peckham Rd and a Peterbilt truck was Northbound on US177. The Nissan failed to stop at the stop sign and struck the truck on the passenger side door. The truck was driven by 43 year old Johnny Chick of Pampa, TX.
Hillhouse was flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita by Eagle Med in stable but critical condition, suffering from head and internal injuries. A passenger, 30 year old Robert Chessher of Blackwell, was first transported to Alliance Health Blackwell and later to Wesley where his condition, too, was reported as critical but stable.
Two children in the Nissan, a 3 year old and a 9 month old, were treated and released with minor head injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured. Hillhouse and Chessher were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The children were both in child safety seats.
