A Wichita, Kansas man who was involved with the overdose of a woman that took place in a Blackwell hotel back on February 27 is being charged with first degree murder by the Kay County District Attorney’s office.

38-year-old Joshua Franklin Lehman was on the floor with 35-year-old Josi Lashell Misak of Wichita inside Blackwell’s Econo Lodge Hotel after she passed out. According to affidavits, the Blackwell Police Department learned that Misak overdosed on Narcan. Blackwell Police also discovered a 1cc syringe with a needle believed to be heroin as both Lehman admitted him and Misak were heroin users.¬†Blackwell Fire/Ems eventually transported Misak to the Blackwell Regional Hospital Emergency Room and eventually was moved to the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita where Misak passed away on March 7. The two were staying at the hotel since they had been at Southwind Casino Braman that same night.

A warrant search indicated that Lehman was wanted in New Mexico for Auto Theft and Criminal Damage To Property with a $20,000.00 cash bond. Lehman was arrested and booked into the Kay County Detention Center on the New Mexico warrant and is scheduled for a hearing at 10:30 a.m. Friday Morning.
