Winfield Police Searching For Suspect

WINFIELD, Kan. – The Winfield Police Department continue their search for a suspect that started Thursday.

At 8:18 Thursday morning, an officer with the Winfield Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the 1400 block of Bliss St. The driver fled east on 15th Ave. at a high rate of speed. The pursuit was terminated in the 1400 block of John St. for reason of public safety. The vehicle was located by a Winfield citizen in the 1600 block of Pearl St. The driver fled on foot, and a female passenger was detained at the scene. Officers from the Winfield Police Department, as well as deputies from the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office, searched for the suspect but we’re unable to locate him in the immediate area. Officers from the Winfield Police Department are still actively investigating this incident.
