South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham (R) expressed his belief in a Wednesday interview that President Biden is displaying fear towards pro-Palestinian protesters. Graham urged the president to take decisive action against them.
In a clip highlighted by Mediaite, Graham expressed on Fox News’s “America Reports” that he believes the President is afraid of the protesters.
Graham’s remarks come in the wake of incidents of violence that occurred at Columbia University and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) the previous night. Both the New York Police Department (NYPD) and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) took stern actions to suppress the pro-Palestinian protesters at these two educational institutions.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Graham expressed concern about the presence of radical elements within both the Democratic Party and the country as a whole. He emphasized that these elements pose a real threat to the existence of the Jewish state.
According to Graham, he believes that there is a faction within the Democratic Party that can be likened to the Hamas group.
Tuesday witnessed a series of events at Columbia and UCLA, which came after several weeks of campus protests centered around Palestinian human rights and the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza during the Israel-Hamas war. These protests have been met with accusations of anti-Semitism, although the protesters have vehemently denied such claims.
“We are tired of the media’s focus on controversial individuals who do not accurately depict our cause,” expressed the leaders of the Columbia protests in a recent statement. “We have been mistakenly associated with a group driven by political motives.”
“We strongly condemn any expression of hate or prejudice and remain vigilant against any non-students who may try to disrupt the unity that is being fostered among our students,” they emphasized. “Our student body consists of individuals from various backgrounds, including Palestinian, Muslim, Arab, Jewish, Black, and pro-Palestinian students, representing the rich diversity of our nation.”
