Ark City woman dies, Newkirk man uninjured in crash near Red Rock early Saturday

A 31 year old Ark City woman has died after a crash early Saturday morning on US Highway 177 SE of Red Rock.  The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that Allison L. Frick of Arkansas City was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2003 Honda Civic she was driving collided with a 2011 Ford F250 driven by 46 year old Mark Mott of Newkirk.  Mott was not injured.

The report states that at about 12:51 AM, Frick’s vehicle was traveling southbound on US 177 and went left of center, by approximately 4 feet, striking the pickup.  Frick was pinned for about 45 minutes before being freed by personnel from the Ponca City Fire Department.

The Highway Patrol says that Mott was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and Frick was not.  The accident happened on US Highway 177 one mile north of State Highway 15E, or 3 miles south and 6 miles east of Red Rock in Noble County.

The investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
